The reflective surface of a mirror is a thin film of pure metallic silver. Strict adherence to these do's and don'ts will help protect the silver from corrosion and prolong the life of the mirror.
The Technical Services Division of the National Glass Association (NGA) has produced this Glass Technical Paper solely for informational purposes.
