Product Details

Glass can break after installation for many reasons, including accidental impact, severe weather events, vandalism and improper glazing conditions. Regardless of the type of glass, broken glass can pose a risk of injury and property damage; therefore, steps should be taken to secure the area around broken glass and replace damaged glass with the appropriate products.

The Technical Services Division of the National Glass Association (NGA) has produced this Glass Technical Paper solely for informational purposes. This Paper was developed by dedicated member volunteers and subject matter experts. The original version of this document was approved and published in 2006. This version of the document was updated and published in April 2023.
